Mr. Bass's expertise includes broad experience in a variety of corporate, commercial and real
estate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and commercial and residential real estate
acquisition, leasing and financing. Mr. Bass has broad experience in all phases of business
transactions, including the organization and financing of corporations, partnerships, and joint
ventures. Before joining the firm in July 1991, Mr. Bass was a partner in the firm of Blodnick,
Abramowitz, Newman & Bass and its predecessor from 1987 until July 1991, prior to which Mr.
Bass was a partner in the firm of Murray, Hollander, Sullivan & Bass from its founding in 1978
until 1987. Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Bass joined the firm of Lovejoy, Wasson,
Lundgren & Ashton, where he was employed as an associate from 1974 until 1978.
Mr. Bass received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester in 1968, where he
was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and his law degree from the Harvard Law School in 1974.
PAUL T. DARCY

Mr. Darcy has extensive experience in all aspects of corporate, securities and business
transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings of securities,
secured and unsecured corporate finance transactions, and bankruptcy reorganization. Mt. Darcy
graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany in 1992, where he
was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received his J.D. degree cum laude in 1995 from the State
University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where he was a member of the Buffalo Law
Review. Mr. Darcy was previously associated with the firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan from

ALVIN M. FEDER

Mr. Feder's major areas of practice are personal injury,
medical malpractice and commercial jury and non-jury trials in the State and
Federal Courts, as well as preparation of the appellate briefs and argument
of appeals. Mr. Feder also participates in mediation and arbitration. A
co-founder of the firm with Gabriel Kaszovitz, Mr. Feder received his

MARTIN J. HERTZ

Mr. Hertz's expertise includes extended and wide experience in litigation in state and federal
lower courts and appellate courts in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as
well as practice in state administrative agencies, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania,
and Connecticut Insurance Departments, and federal agencies, including the SEC, FDA, FTC,
and NLRB. Mr. Hertz is also an experienced practitioner in real estate, commercial and
corporate transactions, having represented the issuer in a public offering of a drug company in
1963 and a public offering of a mortgage real estate investment trust (a Mortgage REIT) in 1969,
as well as in Surrogate, wills and trusts and estate planning.
Mr. Hertz received his B.A. from New York University in 1950, his LL.B. from Harvard Law
School in 1953, and his LL.M. in Trade Regulation from New York University Law School in
1958. Mr. Hertz was previously a partner of Friedlander Gaines (1971 – 1989) and Morrison
Cohen Singer & Weinstein (1989 – 2003).
JONATHAN D. HONIG

Mr. Honig specializes in all aspects of litigation, arbitration and mediation, including, securities,
real estate and construction, bankruptcy and international matters and has tried many cases. Mr. Honig has extensive experience in employment law issues, including issues related to age, gender and race discrimination as well as retaliation claims. Mr.
Honig has served as an AAA and Eastern District of New York arbitrator and as a mediator for
the New York State Supreme Court, New York County. He is admitted to practice in the district
courts of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and has appeared in the United
States District Courts for the Central District of California, the Western District of Pennsylvania
and the District of Rhode Island.
Mr. Honig has published a number of articles relating to real estate and bankruptcy, including
"Adherence to Plain Meaning Rule Slips on Issue of Legal Fees in Bankruptcy", New York Law
Journal, March 26, 1999. He has also been a speaker on international arbitration at an ABA
conference on dispute resolution, and was included in the Euromoney listing of the world's
leading experts and lawyers in commercial arbitration. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Honig was
a partner of Wolf Block Schorr & Solis-Cohen, LLP. Mr. Honig graduated from Cornell
University in 1978 and from the University of Chicago Law School in 1982.
LEONARD A. ISAACSON

Mr. Isaacson specializes in real estate, consumer and commercial banking, and estates. He
supervises the loan closing department for one of the lending institutions represented by the firm
and has extensive experience in drafting consumer and commercial loan documents. He also has
extensive experience in land subdivision law, having represented numerous subdivision
developers before regulatory agencies and in the preparation of the required filings for the
Department of State of the State of New York and the Office of Interstate Land Sales (HUD).
Before joining the firm in 1983, Mr. Isaacson was a partner in the firm of Schiffren, Schnapper
& Isaacson from 1964 to 1983, where he concentrated on the same areas of practice. Mr.
Isaacson is a member of the Board of Directors of the New York City Chapter of the Association
for the Help of Retarded Children. He is active in various other philanthropic and charitable
organizations.
Mr. Isaacson received his bachelor's degree in business from the City College of New York in
1949. He received his LLB degree from New York University in 1951.
GABRIEL KASZOVITZ

Gabriel Kaszovitz's major areas of practice are corporate, commercial, and real estate. A
founding partner in the firm, he started his legal career as a staff attorney with the Securities and
Exchange Commission. Mr. Kaszovitz has broad experience in real estate transactions,
corporate and other business transactional work, leasing, bankruptcy, UCC, general corporate
matters, and commercial law and estate planning. Mr. Kaszovitz has also been primarily
responsible for the conduct of the firm's securities practice, including the preparation of
registration statements for public offerings and documents for the private placement of securities,
and has also been primarily responsible for the compliance by the firm's clients that are publicly
held companies with federal, state, and regulatory laws and rules and reporting requirements. He
has an additional specialty in the area of estate administration and estate planning.
Mr. Kaszovitz received his undergraduate education and his law degree from Columbia
University in 1954. He is admitted to practice in both the State of New York and the State of

MURRAY L. SKALA
